Singer 221 Featherweight, Early School-Bell model, s/n AD787522. Commission date November 11, 1934. This very early collectible school-bell featherweight is in very good condition and is fully functional.
The motor is very strong. The finish shows normal scratches from use but the brightwork is still nice. It appears to be all original with the scroll-style faceplate and the school-bell style bobbin winder tensioner. The electrical components, including plugs and the foot controller are in good shape. It has new rubber feet and a new belt. It has been cleaned and serviced, but not over-restored. It has the original bobbin case and 6 bobbins, and an original green Singer paperboard box for the attachments shown in the photos, including an accessory walking foot. An original but not correct manual is included.
The case has been refurbished and a replacement handle installed. It has the original full-size tray, the latches are reliable, and a key is included. There is a cosmetic imperfection in the finish on the case top but it doesnt seem to be structural.
