Singer 128 Sewing machine 1925 gorgeous FS

This is my Grandmother's very nice 3/4 size Singer 128 in an equally nice bentwood ("domed") case, complete with what I think are its original attachments. This machine is in perfect working condition and is 100 years old.

It is an electric machine with knee control - rural electrification has yet to appear and she used this machine on their Delco electric farm plant till she passsed away. I've used it from time to time to hem pants. This is a lockstitch sewing machine and was Singer's first sewing machines to make use of "vibrating shuttle" technology.

It is all cast-iron and steel and was built before the advent of planned obsolescence, and so they were designed to be repaired rather than replaced. In company literature, they were called "the woman's faithful friend the world over".

This particular machine comes in the highly desirable Domed "Bentwood" (polished plywood) cover, in which the earliest model 128s were mounted. This case is in good condition and does show some signs of its age, which only adds to the machine's antique vintage charm.
