VTG Singer Featherweight Sewing Machine 1948 Series AH, Works Read Details
VTG Singer Featherweight Sewing Machine 1948 Series AH, Works: Read Details. Previously owned Singer Featherweight machine with serial # AH566216 (dates to 1948) that was a storage find. Machine had lots of old oil built up on machine as well as a packed bobbin area of old thread and torn material. Gave a quick wipe with degreaser, removed bobbin debris and added few drops of machine oil, and the machine runs. Did not do any thread or stich testing. Recommend a good through cleaning and tune up prior to regular use. Machine itself is dirty from storage, has paint chips & wear markings and surface rust on metal. See video and photos, machine motor runs, needle moves freely and light bulb works. Some issues noted are that the bottom base screw holding in the spring has a broken screw head (Bakelite or plastic), the feed dog is broken on one side, old oil residue on mechanics, dirty tension knob crevices, surface rust spots, paint damage, and belt looks aged.
The foot control is original with Singer #194584 and the 3 prong plug is original, But the electric cord is Not Original and has electric tape near plug. See photos and video for details and condition.
